Website analytics

We count visits using a random browser identifier that expires after 90 days without a visit. Our private studio dashboard shows aggregate visitor and account totals. Analytics records contain a page path, a broad device category, and the referring website name. Community page paths are grouped together. They do not contain your email, posts, photos, URL queries, or IP address. The shared analytics service is hosted at tinydalecreative.com.

Analytics is disabled when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. You can also clear the analytics identifier in your browser’s site storage.

What we collect

When you use the reader community, we keep your email address and the reader identifier needed to recognize you, the public display name you choose, your edition access, and anything you decide to post, reply, or share as a photo. Your email is not shown to other readers. Secure cookies remember your access for 30 days and your reader profile in this browser for up to a year. Signing out ends community access. Clearing cookies or using a different browser starts a separate reader profile; entering someone’s email does not give access to their profile. We do not use the book’s shared code word to verify ownership of an email address.

If you separately choose to join our email list, we keep the email address you provide along with when, where, and under which consent language you joined.

How we use it

  • To operate and protect the reader community.
  • To remember your edition access, display name, posts, and replies.
  • To store and display photos you intentionally add to a post.
  • To send occasional Tiny Dale Books news only when you opt in.
  • To understand broad participation patterns and improve future editions.

Photos

Photos are resized and re-created in your browser before upload, which removes embedded details such as location information. Only community members can view them. Please share only photos you have the right to use and avoid posting anything that compromises another person’s privacy.

Your email choices

Joining the email list is optional and is not required to use the community. You can unsubscribe in your community settings or through the link included in marketing emails. We keep a record of an unsubscribe request so we can continue to honor it.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell reader email addresses or personal information. We may use service providers to host the site, store information, prevent abuse, or deliver emails on our behalf. We keep information only as long as it is reasonably needed for those purposes, legal obligations, and honoring your choices.

Your questions and requests

To ask what information we have about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy question, email questions@tinydalebooks.com. We may need to confirm that the request belongs to you before acting on it. A private account-support view lets the operator review your profile, membership date, contact email where provided, and contribution counts to handle support and verified requests. A typed email alone is not proof of ownership. Deleting a community profile removes its contact details, sessions, book access, contributions and stored photos. Other readers’ replies can remain under an anonymous “Deleted post” placeholder. This does not delete an external ChatGPT account. A minimal deletion receipt keeps only the profile identifier, date and completion status to prevent interrupted requests from restoring removed data. Completed receipts become eligible for removal after seven days and are cleared during subsequent account-support requests; incomplete receipts remain until cleanup finishes. Provider backups and copies saved elsewhere follow their own retention rules.
